First Date Advice.

We all have had this problem at some point in our lives. You know, the awkward first date. Whether it is just a movie or out to eat a nice dinner we have some problems that just naturally come our way. The first date is all about making an awesome first impression. Well...my friends, I have some advice for how to avoid awkward first date problems. Listen (read?) carefully, and you will have the best. First. Date. Ever. :)

First off, the general no-no's.

• Don't be late. What makes a better first impression than, "Hey I really don't care that you think I am rude because I was late, I had to make my hair look perfect. Yes, that's right, my hair is more important than good quality date time, thank you." No.

Take a shower. No guy enjoys smelling the ripe stench of a woman's underarms. Well, other than that guy living in the trash can about a mile and a half away.

Be Hot. But not too hot. We don't want this guy to think that he can get laid on the first date, now do we? I don't think so. Just be hot enough to make him think about how truly hot you actually are. I really don't think any guy really wants to go on a date with someone in frumpy clothes, you know?

Don't talk about yourself. Yes, he took you on a date to learn more about you. But you also need to be interested in who he is too. It is just kind of rude to talk about yourself when he is taking you on the date. Say somethings, but make it concentrated. Remember, you can only have a date with TWO people.

Don't take phone calls or texts. RUDE. "Hey! I have to take this call because, well, frankly I don't really know you nor would I like to get to know you. I only really wanted a free dinner." Not very nice message, huh?

Avoid certain foods. Scroll down, please. :)

Food to Stay Away From.

 • Any sort of stringy pasta.  Spaghetti, linguine, fettuccine anything that isn't mac-n-cheese size. The thing is that even if you spend 20 minutes carefully twirling your spaghetti into the perfect little cocoon on your fork you will slurp it and it will be loud.  In addition to the horrible slurping sound the sauce is going to go flying onto either your beautiful first-date-outfit, or worse, your date’s.  The results will not be favorable.

• Anything Smelly. Garlic, onions, you know what I am talking about. BUT - if you are a fan of both of those, like me, then make sure you bring the spearmint gum. Even if you don't plan on kissing the guy, you are still going to talk and he is still going to be able to smell that stank comin' out of your mouth. But if you really do love these yummy foods then just try to make it without them on the first date. I mean, at least wait until the second. Give him at least one un-smelly date. ;)

• Things you eat with your hands. Ribs, shrimp, crab, and lobster.  First of all, if you get ribs on a first date you are asking for it. Secondly, if a guy is taking you out to lobster on your first date.  Then you should stay with him, regardless.  Just kidding.  Kind of.  But seriously anything you eat with your hands are all extremely messy to eat, and will most likely get all over your face and hands, and underneath your newly manicured nails. Not cute. But if you just HAVE to have the ribs because they are the special that he restaurant is having and it is only for one more day, than warn your man. Tell him whats up, and let your messy flag fly.

• Anything that will ruin your smile.  Corn, poppy seeds, spinach, and any blue candy. You don't want to be the girl that smiles and has spinach stuck in your teeth, do you? How do you avoid this problem? Floss, my friend, floss.  Don't let that happen to you.

So, all in all. If you remember this advice, I guarantee that that awesome first date will turn into a second. :)

yummy food.

Yes, I know, two posts in a row? What?! But I really have had a lot going on this week and I just wanted to share with you some of the awesome food that my grandma and I made. It's a quick post, but just imagine how awesome these tasted. :)

This is just buttered asparagus. Nothing special, but you can never go wrong with some butter, salt and asparagus. Now on to the real recipes...

Here's the coconut cream pie recipe.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups half-and-half
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup flaked coconut, toasted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 (9 inch) pie shell, baked
  • 1 cup frozen whipped topping, thawed

Directions
  1. In a medium saucepan, combine half-and-half, eggs, sugar, flour and salt. Bring to a boil over low heat, stirring constantly. Remove from heat, and stir in 3/4 cup of the coconut and the vanilla extract. Pour into pie shell and chill 2 to 4 hours, or until firm.
  2. Top with whipped topping, and with remaining 1/4 cup of coconut.
  3. Note: To toast coconut, spread it in an ungreased pan and bake in a 350 degree F (175 degrees C) oven for 5 to 7 minutes, or until golden brown, stirring occasionally.

And you guys know those awesome chedder bay biscuits are Red Lobster, yea...made those too. ;) I found the recipe on Brown Sugar Brunette's blog. Check her out, she has amazing recipes and they are actually relatively easy as well! :)

Here's her recipe.

Ingrediants

2 ½ cups Bisquick baking mix
 ¾ cup cold whole milk
4 tablespoons cold butter (1/2 stick)
 ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
1 heaping cup grated cheddar cheese

Brush on Top

 2 tablespoons butter, melted
 ¼ teaspoon dried parsley flakes
 ½ teaspoon garlic powder
 pinch salt

Directions

1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
2. Combine Bisquick with cold butter in a medium bowl using a pastry cutter or a large fork. You don't want to mix too thoroughly. There should be small chunks of butter in there that are about the size of peas. Add cheddar cheese, milk, and ¼ teaspoon garlic. Mix by hand until combined, but don't over mix.
3. Drop approximately ¼-cup portions of the dough onto an un-greased cookie sheet using an ice cream scoop.
4. Bake for 15 to 17 minutes or until the tops of the biscuits begin to turn light brown.
5. When you take the biscuits out of the oven, melt 2 tablespoons butter is a small bowl in your microwave. Stir in ½ teaspoon garlic powder and the dried parsley flakes. Use a brush to spread this garlic butter over the tops of all the biscuits. Use up all of the butter. Makes one dozen biscuits.

They are so good that I ended up making four batches and giving them away to all of my friends and family. Everyone loved them so, you should probably try them. ;)

Enjoy! :)

Guess who got her purse. Just guess.

Hey guys!

As you can see from the title I have finally gotten my Melie Bianco purse! Yes, that's the one. The one that I have been talking about for like...ever. I ended up getting it in the mail two weeks ago, and I have been meaning to show you, but I have just been busy with school and soccer and cheer. You know, all that fun stuff. Well, here are some pictures to show you guys just what I am talking about. :)

Here we are, I like it with the long strap as opposed to the smaller one. :)

And here's the inside.
The purse is actually a lot different than what I was expecting. It actually has two separate parts. It's kind of like two purses in one. And it is HUGE. Legit, I could Big Mama in it and she would be comfortable. Lol.

And here is one more picture. Drew decided to have a photoshoot. Personally, I think it looks better on me. ;)

cute things.

Just another quickie post. I have a double date tonight with my man so I need to get all prettyfied. So, here are somethings to make you smile (that's if you aren't already smiling on this beautiful day). :)

I put this on here because it had my name and was so, so, so cute. :) Now on to the babies. :)

I hope you enjoyed all of the cuteness. :)
Have a great weekend!

treat your skin right, yo.

Hey guys.
I know, I know, I have been slacking and I am really sorry about that. I've just been having a busy week and enjoying some time with my Grandma. :) So let me make up for it with a super awesome post!

The summer season is coming up and what more do girls want for this season other than beautiful skin? Okay, maybe a super hot bod, but for me I think that skin is equally important in overall beauty. Now, I have super duper sensitive skin and it sucks. But hey, I take care of my skin and it really doesn't look all that bad. So, let me share some of my tips with you. :)

First off, color is your friend. And no I do not mean all of those yummy and colorful M&M's, I mean really color. What looks more yummy than a crisp, juicy red apple? Nothing. Eat a variety of fruits and vegetables. When it concerns your skin, you are what you eat. Break up with the pizza. Tell him that you don't want to have a blotchy pepperoni face. I'm sure he'll understand. ;)

Keep your skin clean and moisturize dry skin. You should moisturize every night and every morning. This is a big one for me because I have really dry skin and I need to moisturize it every day, if I didn't...well...I don't want to even go there. Lol.

A little sun is healthy and mood-lifting. But you need to protect it with sunscreen. This is BIG. You don't want to get cancer just because you are too lazy to take the time to protect your skin. It aggravates me so much when girls feel like they need to be tan to be beautiful, when in the long run you are putting yourself at a great risk for skin cancer. So please, if you are one of those girls, protect your skin.

Green tea is anti-inflammatory and in the lab has been shown to heal skin. I love green tea, and it just makes you feel so light and healthy.

WAH-TAHH! Drink it. Want boient, clear, healthy, beautiful skin? Water. Water. Water. I can't say it enough. You should drink at least 6 cups of water a day to be healthy. This also helps with weight loss too.

Exercise to shed stress hormones and improve circulation. I know, exxxxercise. Ew, right? Well there are other forms of exercise other than running and crunches. Hit up some Zumba classes. Yoga, maybe? It really does make you feel less stressed.

Get your beauty sleep. Not that you need it, but skin regenerates and hormones balance while you are sleeping. Meaning, while you sleep your skin sleeps. :)

Don’t smoke and stay away from second hand smoke and other obvious pollutants. This is kind of common knowledge, but it's a biggie. Not only is smoking verrrry unattractive, but it takes so much toll on your health. I'm sorry, but I don't want wrinkles. No thanks.

Smile. It instantly makes your skin look gorgeous. :)

Don’t force your beauty. Enhance it. Avoid drastic changes and a lot of makeup.Don't worry guys, eyeshadow is fine ;) I was freakin' out too. Express who you are. Don’t mask the real you. Your beautiful. :)

hottie of the day.

Hey guys! Just a quick post for all you gals out there. ;)

Now, if you have read my About Me you know that I am going to someday marry James Marsden. Don't know how I am talking about? Well he's the cutie with a bootie on Enchanted, Hairspray, 27 Dresses, Hop, The Notebook, X-men, Sex-Drive, The Box, want me to go on?

He's pretty much the cutest guy in the world and has a smile that could attain world peace. And he seems to be pretty sweet as well. So, here ya go. Here is some eye candy for you guys. :)

i'm too sarcastic.

Okay guys. Tell me your honest opinions on this lovely trend.

Who doesn't like spending only 24 and 1/2 seconds getting dressed? No need to fuss with putting on separate pieces of clothing when they are all connected, right? Maybe it's more economical, is the recession taking a toll on these otherwise stylish women? So many questions and so little answers. Why do people wear these things, no one in particular (TYRA) but they are just not attractive on ANYONE. But, hey, I guess some people just love looking like they are in baby sleepers. :)

Oh! And don't let me forget about the other new trend that I am absolutely in LOVE with. I mean, seeing this just makes me want to go to a hoedown and eat some straw. Yee-haw! Ugh...fashion these days...

Disclaimer: These are my thoughts, you are welcome to disagree, just please no crude comments. I would love to hear your opinions, just in a nice and respectful way. :)

things i love.

Okay y'all, I have a challange for my fellow bloggers. Here it is.
Post 9 random things that you love, and tell why.

Well, I guess you don't have to, but I figured it would be fun reading about all of the different quirky, fun things that people love. If you post one send a link, I would love to read them! :)

Anyway, here is mine. In no particular order. :)

My Make-up Palette - I ordered this last year and I have used it almost everyday I have had it. It has so many colors to choose from and it was actually pretty cheap! Thank you bhcosmetics, thank you.

Egg Spinach and Feta Omelet - A classic. If you haven't made yourself one of these babies, you are missing out.

The Lake - Fun in the sun, chillin' with my man, tubing, the beach, swimming, campfire, the smell of the cottage (it smells really good, trust me), and summer food. :)

Sparkles - It's actually my favorite color. ;) I like them on anything, make-up, nails, shorts, shirts, the whole shabang. But don't worry, I don't go walking around school looking like a disco ball. I promise.

Daisey Dukes - Don't act like you don't like yourself some booty shorts. C'mon girl, embrace it. ;)

Sunny Day's - C'mon, who doesn't like bright, happy days?

Free Coupons from Victoria's - I don't think I've spent money on underwear in 4 years. how awesome is it that you get pretty panties for F-R-E-E. if you don't get coupons, it's okay to be jealous, just ask to get on the mailing list. ;)

Winning Things - Well, since i am a pretty lucky son (daughter?) of a gun, i have won a couple of things INCLUDING awesome eyeshadow primer and a Melie bianco purse. :)

Comfy Days - Just a long sleeve t-shirt and some shorts, so comfy I love it. I don't dress comfy very often, but when I do it's pretty awesome.

:)

lovely little small haul.

Hey guys! I just went shopping with my UBFF Saturday and I decided that I will show you guys what I ended up getting, it wasn't much but I had a good time, and I figured the stuff that I got was pretty good too. ;)

First off, I ended up getting one of those new mocha coconut frappacinos. (during happy hour so it was only 2 bucks!) It was verrry yummy. :)

I got these lovely colored pencils for my grandma for mother's day, she loved them. :)

I got this lovely cardigan at H&M for ten bucks! I love it so much. :) Sorry for the bad quality of pictures, I need a new camera. Lol.

I got the orange, striped, and navy for only ten bucks (including the actual watch, too!) at American Eagle.  :)

I needed some new shorts so I decided to venture out of my comfort zone of dark wash to light wash, I must say, it was a pretty good choice. :) Thank you H&M.

And lastly I got these Frill leather bracelets from my aunt. She decided to surprise me, they are so cute.

So, there you go, it was a successful shopping trip. :)
Happy Monday! :)

happy mother's day! :)

In honor of Mother's day I thought I would tell you a little bit about my lovely mother. First off, she is probably the best mom in the world. I know she may not think that I think that, but she really is. I am very lucky to have a woman like her in my life, she is sweet and caring and is the most unselfish person I know. Everyone that meets her loves her, another thing about her is that she is probably the most thrifty woman I know. She can go into a Goodwill and come out with hundreds of dollars worth of name brand stuff for only twenty-something. Just like this beautiful purse. :) She always knows what is right and is always looking out for her family. She is a beautiful woman and has taught my sister and I to be wonderful people just like her. So here is an ode to you, mom. I love you and happy mothers day. :)

So guys, in honor of this mother's day, tell me something that you love about your mom. Anything at all. :)
