Maybe it's just me, but I really do not like the UGG trend.
Is it even a trend anymore? I mean, it has been years since people have been wearing these overpriced cloth boots. So is it now considered a new winter staple? Do UGG's fit in to the same category now as winter sweaters and scarves?
Personally I think that they are ugly (UGGly) boots that have become culturally acceptable to wear out in public due to the comfort they serve the wearer. I would just rather spend my 170 bucks on a pair of riding boots or those lovely fringe boots that I have been talking about. They actually kind of remind me of Pooh Bears feet.
What do you think? Maybe I'm crazy.
Interested in sponsoring? Get at it girrrrrrrl.
You're not crazy at all. I hate them with a passion.
ReplyDeleteI don't mind the UGG trend, actually, I don't even have real UGG's, but yeah, I agree with you there on the riding boots, someday, maybe after Christmas, if I get riding boots, I'll wear them to school when everybody else is wearing UGGs and be like, "Beat that! Riding boots are better!!!" haha

It's not just you. I totally agree. My sister loves them, but I don't get them at all. They're so... oversized and... ugly. I don't even think they look like slippers. They're like, three times as big as the wearers feet/legs! What is with that??
ReplyDeleteUGG's are hideous! the thing I hate most about them is the price! why are they over $50!? I love combat boots those are amazing :]
ReplyDeleteSo I need help, i want to get this scholarship to collage and all you have to do, is 'like' this page on facebook: http://www.facebook.com/Tiagraphy
and tell your friends! that would help so much :]
thank you!
This is how I feel about crocs! lol :x
ReplyDeleteglad to see i'm not the only one!
ReplyDeleteI think I just threw up from UGGly overload... BLAHHH!
ReplyDeleteMarshmallows for your feettttt! :P

I totally agree with you. I don´t like UGG´s. And I also don´t like crocs :S Time to time I think that I am he onlyone who don´t like UGGs but it is nice to now that there are more of us :D
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you. I'm from Australia where they originated and they are usually only worn here as slippers, inside. In fact in winter if I have them on and have to sneek out I get embarrassed and run quickly to get what I need and scurry back inside.
ReplyDeleteWith this purpose they are lovely, but they (in my mind) were never made to wear out in public, except for pyjama parties!
I have a pair and I love mine but I must agree with Jane - I only wear them as slippers.
ReplyDeleteI find it strange that people would wear them outside as shoes - wouldn’t they get ruined?
haha, am i the only one brave enough to speak up for these? freak. i love my uggs. i will agree that they are absolutely ugly but holy crap are they comfy. i bought them when i was pregnant two years ago & it was like walking in clouds. kinda amazing for a fatty with swollen feet!
ReplyDeletei reserve them for sloppy-hoodie days where I just want comfort, not cuteness :)
I like them :-)
ReplyDeleteI must admit they arent a good looking boot but they are the only shoe i have found that keep my feet warm. My feet usually get so cold they go numb and no amount of sock warm them up. The sheepskin in Uggs are not only really comfy but they keep my tootsies snugg :-)
What i do dislike though is fake uggs, an uggs worn with velour tracksuits! The really cheap fake boots with foam like soles look vile when they crease at the ankle and you end up walking on the side of the boot! *shudders*
I don't think they are overpriced, i have had a pair of black ones for well over 3 years now and they are still as good as new (and trust me i have worn them ALOT).

I wear them around the house as a casual thing; but typically I go for sleeker boot styles when I go out. I find that they're a bit heavy to walk in - but maybe that's just me? :/
ReplyDeleteI do, however, love Cardy Uggs - the sweater knit is adorbs! :)
I totally agree! they're the most unflattering shoes EVER and I don't understand why they're so popular! I'm surprised that they've stayed "in style" for this long...I hope the UGGly trend ends soon!!
ReplyDeletei have uggs and i don't think they're too bad. though some people can make them look worse than what they are, like when people turn the tops of them over. i don't understand how people can wear them with dresses/skirts/shorts! makes me feel a little bit queazy when i see them combined!
ReplyDeletesophie @ thesecretavenue.com
I quite like uggs, not that i have any, but not so keen on the fake ones when walking seems to rub off half the sole and then you end up walking on the side of the boot. gross
ReplyDeletebut i do agree with you on rather spending the money on riding boots. in fact i've been looking around today for a new pair of competition boots, any suggestions? xxx
HAHA i was so on your side untill me OH mum bought me a pair and now i wear them alot! At least they are the knitted ones and not the plain ones hah. I do agrree with the pooh bear foot comment! x
ReplyDeleteAgreed! Have you seen this video? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5BDiDmSotqs Too funny!
ReplyDeleteI don't really hate or like them. I have a pair of Airwalk boots that are made to look like knock-off Uggs, but the only time I wear them is when I'm shoveling the driveway, so it's not exactly a fashion statement!
ReplyDelete- Mandi @ http://www.lifeinbeta.com
Definitely, this boots are not my favorites! Kisses!!
ReplyDeleteHa ha I think there is no middle ground to people's feelings on uggs- you love them or hate them.
ReplyDeleteGirl i agree! I have NEVER been a fan of those UGGS!

I think some people can pull them off with a cute outfit or just sweatpants ha. But, I would never spend that much money on them.
ReplyDeleteI hope you'll check out my blog & giveaways, plus a link up called Wish! {out loud} that I hope you'll participate in!

I hate the fact they get so grungy and gross because people wear them in all weathers. They are slippers people! Hence why they HAVE NO GRIP!
ReplyDeleteI have been swayed by some of the new style Uggs (That actually look like bike boots and have a leather exterior) but the prices are mental.
I'm on the UGG hating front (when worn outside), but if I had the cash to frivilously chuck about...I'd buy some and wear them just as slippers because they do look cosy.
I own a pair and I love them, but I wouldn't say they are fashionable. I'm from the north, so I need warm boots, and my Uggs never let me down. But I will say the price was a bit ridiculous. I love your blog by the way, I randomly landed on it and visit it every single day. Keep up the awesome work. :)

Well they feel great, but look terrible. I personally don't own a pair, but I'm sure my feet would love me if I did.
ReplyDeletehttp://shannonhearts.blogspot.com/
Ouuuuch. I LOVE Uggs. I have two pairs actually and I adore them. I am totally okay with spending $150 on a pair of nice, real sheepskin boots, especially since I live in extremely cold weather. (I actually only spent $90 on each, but usually they cost about $150.) I think it's funny that people hate them so passionately sometimes because they are so warm and so wonderful! I think they're cute, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder! ;)
ReplyDeleteThey are mad crazy adorable. But they only look good if you are skinny wearing jeggings or skinny jeans other wise you look like a bum
ReplyDeleteAMEN!
ReplyDeletebel post. E 'un piacere leggere il tuo post. mantenere inviando, tornerĂ².
ReplyDeleteI absolutely do not think they are fashionable, but I do wear them because they are so warm and comfy. I would never wear them 'trying to be cute' just around the house and sometimes on errands. In fact, I am wearing mine right now. ;)
ReplyDeleteahahh so funny Pooh feet!! I don't like this anymore, I use to wear them like almost 10 years ago.. I used to see them on Pam Anderson and thinking: what's that?? looks nice!! IMAGINE!! having pam as a style icon....weird baywatch times!!!
ReplyDeleteUGG's are so comfy! I love wearing mine, but the winter in Norway is quite wet and rainy so i can't use them so often. Soaking wet UGGs is NOT pretty, haha.
